ReplyDeletePihar is a colloquial short for 'piya ka ghar'or the house where her beloved lives. Also means the house of in-laws where the girl goes to live after marriage. The ending "wa" is a common way of speech in Bhojpuri. The parental home for girls is referred as "maihar" and the ancestral home for men or women as "naihar".
